Arctic Frontiers 2012: Interview with Fabio Buonsanti

by Tom Fries During the Arctic Frontiers conference in Tromsø, Norway in January 2012, Arctic Institute contributor Tom Fries interviewed Fabio Buonsanti, a masters candidate at the University of Oslo, about a feasibility study he is conducting. Fabio is looking at the possibility of replacing Svalbard's coal-fired power plant, which provides energy for the city of Longyearbyen, with a combination of wind and solar energy. His work brings him face to face with the delicate balance between the needs of humans and the needs of the environment. You can find a non-flash version of the interview here.
