This interview of Andreas Østhagen, conducted by Tom Fries on the Saturday immediately prior to the conference, offers some unique insight into the dynamics of the debate on oil and gas exploration and development in the European North. Østhagen's own work in Brussels as a representative of Norway's northernmost districts gives him a window into a policy sphere about which most of us can only speculate.
