The Arctic Institute is excited to present the first, easy-to-use, interactive Arctic Map on the internet. The Arctic Maps displays the approximate Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZ) of the five Arctic coastal states, shows the potential expansion areas of the EEZ, indicates Arctic shipping routes, locates active and future oil and gas exploration areas, displays past and current border disputes, and visualizes the location of Arctic national parks. The Arctic Map is split into two separate map pages. The first page displays the EEZ, the shipping routes, and border disputes; the second page displays potential EEZ expansion areas, oil and gas exploration areas, and Arctic national parks. Items in the map are clickable and a pop-up window will provide additional information and maps. The Arctic Map will be continually updated and expanded.
